What is Yoga ?

Yoga is not just physical stretches or becoming flexible; it is an ancient science of holistic well-being. It’s a systematic approach to reach the goal of human existence and to tap into one’s deep consciousness as defined in ancient scriptures. It’s a path towards self-realization and/or enlightenment.

What is Yoga Psychology

Yoga psychology describes how the idealized healthy body and mind function and how imbalances can occur leading to pathology and suffering. In its highest form, yoga psychology seeks to actualize a conscious relationship with the vast cosmic forces that lie beyond socially conditioned awareness.

We also begin to see our unique life purpose and destiny from a higher perspective, one that links us to a greater and more universal destiny.

Dr Akashni uses the concepts derived from yoga  and psychology to help unite the mind, body and soul. Her individual coaching sessions can involve yoga psychology as well.

Yoga psychotherapy shows us how to transform adversity and to use suffering and adversity to actualize this conscious relationship with those vast cosmic forces. From this perspective, we gain information about ourselves and the imprints that have been left within our soul.

There are the two primary levels of yoga psychotherapy:

1. Behavioural changes and the development of a stable ego.

2. Deep psychotherapy that supports the journey from limited, socially conditioned consciousness to the awakened authentic Self.
